Summer is in full swing and we’re not sure if it’s the insane Texas heat or 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒆’𝒔 2021 911 𝑻𝒖𝒓𝒃𝒐 𝑺 that has us dizzy and thirsty for more. Maybe it’s the 𝑉𝑖𝑜𝑙𝑎 𝑀𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑜𝑚 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝑗𝑜𝑏, or the 20” exclusive design alloy wheels with Pirelli tires and aggressive yellow Porsche brake calipers, or maybe, just maybe, it’s the 3.0L twin-turbocharged boxer 6 engine pushing out a ripping 640 horsepower and 590lb-ft of torque that has left us breathless and absolutely enamored.

We are like dazed people who have lost their way in the desert and have resigned ourselves to death, only to come upon an oasis in the nick of time and partially wonder if this is real. But Porsche’s sports exhaust system with blackened tailpipes shatters any doubt as it gives voice to a car that demands you to experience it in person.

Even on the hottest day, you won’t sweat in this car - not with a 0 - 60 mph time of 2.6 seconds, and an 8-speed PDK transmission with all-wheel drive and Porsche Traction Management propelling you to a top speed of 205 mph. This all means you can drink a beer at the finish line waiting for 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒 #𝐵𝑀𝑊 𝑀8𝑠, #𝑀𝑐𝐿𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛 720𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 #𝐿𝑎𝑚𝑏𝑜𝑟𝑔ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑖 𝐴𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ 𝑢𝑝… or at least that’s what we imagine you’d do with a car like this. While we haven’t driven it…yet, we’re 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 (𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘗𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯).

As in most OG Porsches, the “back seat” leaves little to be desired - perhaps “back shelf” would be more appropriate. Also, the Race-Tex alcantara fabric on the steering wheel feels gummy, as if it would slowly peel off over time. We understand ‘why’ Porsche uses it, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hate it anyway. Lastly, the faux turn key seemed out of place on such a precision vehicle. Why not just make a push button start? Such minor gripes for such an extraordinary vehicle.

This particular car features a $13,000 custom paint job, $1,600 carbon fiber mirrors, $4,000 carbon fiber roof, and a $4,000 Burmester sound system. All-in this car will cost you just about $300,000. Not bad when: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘦.

Like the Summer of Love of ‘67, we have found our love. It may be heating up outside and times they are a-changin’, but at least we know we can 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 205 𝘮𝘱𝘩 in our Purple Haze with love in our hearts and smiles plastered to our faces.
