We’re all about sports here at ModernChassis and ice hockey is most definitely on the shortlist. Besides the adrenaline rush the game incites, the passion the players put into enforcing comradery and that the Texas Stars rule of course - we get to nerd out on the physics of the game!

Thin skates on ice. Thin tires on ice.

Winter tire swaps are usually thinner than the all-season or summer options. Generally, narrower tires are better in snow and on ice than are wider tires because they get better linear traction. Same principal applies to hockey skate hollows. Different sized hollows effect different performance traits on ice.

The Stars played an excellent game! They took the game to a shoot-out but at the end of the night the Barracudas took the win. The teams returned the following night to settle the score.
